Sour Apples

Ekşi Elmalar tells the story of Mayor Aziz Özay and his family, beginning in 1970s Hakkari and ending in 1990s Antalya. Known for his stern and authoritarian demeanor, Aziz is defined by two things: his famed apple orchard and his three beautiful daughters. Over the years, the family confronts societal changes, love, and life’s challenges. Aziz’s oppressive nature and his daughters’ struggle to find their own paths lead the family on a complex and emotional journey.
