Seeking to escape the chaos of city life, Gail, a child psychologist, retreats with her fiancé Luke and his son Josh to a secluded country home. There, Josh encounters their eccentric neighbor Ruth, who collects dreamcatchers. In an attempt to end his recurring nightmares, Josh steals one of Ruth's talismans. However, this act unleashes a malevolent force, causing Josh to experience disturbing dreams where his deceased mother commands him to harm Gail. As his behavior becomes increasingly erratic, Luke and Gail fear that Josh may be possessed by a bloodthirsty spirit. Together, they must confront the dark entity before it consumes them all.
