In the chaotic Five Points district of Lower Manhattan during the 1860s, Bill "The Butcher" Cutting rules over a crime-filled area. Sixteen years after Bill killed his father, Amsterdam Vallon, an orphaned Irish-American, returns to seek revenge. But much has changed. Now a young man driven by vengeance, Amsterdam works his way up through the Five Points underworld. Will he finally get the revenge he's after?
